Grand Harbour amenities
Grand Harbour (GH) amenities include a games room with billiards table, a lounge/party room with Professional AV system, full kitchen and cappuccino bar. The shared facilities which are used by both towers, include a pool with whirlpool spa, saunas, change rooms, a well equipped gymnasium, a library and 2 guest suites for residents' rental.
GH consists of 131condominium units from studio suites, one bedroom, 2 storey one bedroom, two bedrooms with many different layouts and 3 bedroom suites. Most suite layouts are available through the menu on the opening page. The large penthouses have sweeping views, some with large patios. There is a very active social calendar for those who wish it and multiple card playing groups as well as several fitness groups and aqua fitness sessions in the pool. GH offers spectacular views of Kempenfelt Bay, a large bay off Lake Simcoe which in turn leads to easy boat access to the Trent Severn System. Directly in front of GH is Barrie's Marina and the famous waterfront park system, more about this under City of Barrie.
City of Barrie
Barrie is a city of approx. 128,000 people which allows it to cater to everyone with most of the "Big Box" stores while maintaining a small town atmosphere downtown, a short walk from GH. There are many restaurants downtown serving most tastes.
The 3.6 KM Waterfront Trail for walking and hiking guides visitors through three large waterfront parks. Centennial Park is steps from GH and features a delightful large beach and playground with facilities for young and young at heart.
There are many galleries and live theatre presentations. Georgian College provides an eclectic choice of educational and cultural activities. The hospital (Royal Victoria) has a widespread reputation for excellent facilities and physicians who are top in their field. Many of GH folks are volunteers there.
Barrie is growing at a rapid pace making real estate a solid investment.
